Aluplast expands production capacities in the USA

17.09.2018 −

The plastic window and door manufacturer Aluplast is building a second production plant in the USA via its subsidiary Chelsea Building Products. In Greenville, Texas, the remaining assets of a former extrusion site are to be used. According to Chelsea Building Products, the existing infrastructure will enable the construction of a total of 15 production lines. The 126,000 ft² or 11,700 m² hall will also provide space for future extensions.

The company has already ordered the equipment required to build the plant. They are to be delivered in the fourth quarter. The commissioning of all extrusion lines is then planned for January 2019. According to Peter Dewil, President and CEO of Chelsea Building Products, this will significantly increase the overall capacity of the company, which is currently represented by a plant at its headquarters in Oakmont/Pennsylvania.

Chelsea Building Products intends to use the second production site to supply customers primarily in the south and west of the USA. Aluplast took over the manufacturer of uPVC profiles in March 2017. According to Dewil, further investments will be made in the next three years to expand production capacity at both US locations.
