Sonae UK, part of Sonae Industria SGPS S.A., has meanwhile scheduled the start-up of the chipboard works damaged by a fire in the wet-chip and chip-preparation sections in mid-June for the first week of November. The works will run at 75% capacity in the initial phase; full performance is to be reached by March 2012. The replacement deliveries from Sonae Industria facilities in Portugal and from the plants of German Glunz will continue until raw chipboard production is resumed. These deliveries also assure supplies to the value-adding facilities at the Knowsley works where Sonae UK operates three short-cycle presses and a panel saw.
