Contrary to the expectations voiced at the end of April, replacement prices for Brazilian elliotis pine plywood have fallen again slightly after all as a result of the newly waning demand. Whereas most agents and importers at that time were working from the assumption that the price level achieved by means of more mark-ups in April was going to be maintained, prices have dropped by an average of $5-10/m³ again since the middle of May.
