Plysorol restarted production at the mill at its headquarters in Lisieux at the start of May. Plysorol’s director for France, Philippe Gueit, told EUWID that poplar veneer production is currently in the test phase, with plywood production due to commence in June. The mill will solely manufacture poplar veneer and plywood in the first few months after its start-up. Plysorol will then begin making also beech veneer and plywood in Lisieux in September 2011. One machine that had been used to make okoumé veneers prior to Plysorol’s insolvency filing and acquisition by John Bitar will peel beech logs.
