Pfeifer breaks off talks on Swiss sawmill
The Swiss company Holzindustrie Pfeifer has broken off talks with Klausner Holz Thüringen regarding the acquisition of plant components from the former sawmill of Mayr-Melnhof Swiss Timber in Domat/Ems. Pfeifer‘s decision was taken in connection with decisions handed down by the Grisons canton court in Chur, which on 9 July dismissed several points in appellate proceedings initiated by Klausner and Pfeifer. For example, the request to extend the deadline which had originally been set as 30 June by the Imboden bankruptcy office to 31 March 2013 for the dismantling of the sawmill was rejected. During the course of the appellate proceedings, the bankruptcy office set a new deadline of 31 December for the dismantling the sawmill plant.
