Demand for maritime pine plywood has improved again slightly in October. In September, most market players reported a general stabilisation of demand; some sources also said that demand had slowed down a little in September. Manufacturers and importers are partly attributing the renewed improvement in demand in October to a trend reversal when it comes to the substitution of maritime pine plywood with elliotis pine plywood from Brazil and Russian birch plywood. The available supplies of these products have decreased in recent months while prices have increased.
