Versowood acquires gluelam plant from Metsä

Finnish Metsä Group has sold its Kuningaspalkki gluelam-timber plant in Hartola, which is part of the Metsä Wood division, to Finnish Versowood and thereby completely withdrawn from laminated-wood production. The contract of sale was signed on 3 November, and the transfer of ownership was scheduled for the end of November.

With this additional laminated-wood plant, Versowood’s current production capacity for gluelam timber of 65,000 m³/year at its Heinola and Vierumäki plants will be boosted by production at the Hartola site to over 80,000 m³/year.
