Manufacturers forced to withdraw some increases of OSB prices
Slower demand has remained pervasive on Central European OSB markets over the past few weeks. This comes after a surprisingly strong March was followed by a slump that set in at the start of April. Several manufacturers reported that order intake failed to live up to expectations again in May. Austria, Germany and Switzerland continue to fare better than neighbouring markets, but order volumes have subsided in these countries too compared with February and March. At the same time, the number of large projects has declined.
