Italian WBP makers still idling machines

21.05.2012 −

Italian particleboard and MDF producers are still having to curb their output amid sustained weak demand. Panguaneta became another company primarily making plywood products that has stopped manufacturing particleboard. Its mill, which closed in March 2012, last made approximately 30,000m³ each year and predominantly met its demand for wood from production residues generated by its own poplar plywood production plant. Reni and IBL had previously exited the particleboard manufacturing business in the past year. Reni closed a mill with an annual capacity of around 24,000m³ towards the end of June 2011. IBL’s two calendar plants, which recently still made 40,000m³ per year, ended production in July and December 2011 respectively.
