Arbec clinches Miramichi mill deal in second attempt

The Canadian lumber and OSB producer Produits Forestiers Arbec has acquired an OSB mill in Miramichi from Weyerhaeuser in its second attempt. The latter company had shut the mill indefinitely in December 2006. The Miramichi online newsletter reported that the transaction, which closed in late November 2011, received support from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency as well as other government agencies.
