Arauco has ordered new plant for Nueva Aldea mill
Paneles Arauco has ordered essential plant components for rebuilding its mill in Nueva Aldea that was destroyed by fire in early January with the Finnish company Raute. The orders comprise, among other things, two veneer peeling lines, three drying lines equipped with Raute’s latest machine vision and moisture meter technology, four automatic plywood gluing and lay-up lines, three plywood presses, an automatic veneer patching line together with three automatic veneer puttying lines and the mill’s production management system. The machinery will be manufactured at Raute’s Finnish production plants in Nastola and Kajaani as well as at the site in Shanghai and by the company’s partner network. Orders for upstream panel processing equipment like sanding or laminating lines have not yet been placed. Arauco says it initially wanted to place the order for the main plant components as fast as possible, in order to establish the fundamentals of the new mill and send a signal to customers.
