Titanium dioxide prices left virtually unchanged

08.06.2012 −

The longstanding upswing in titanium dioxide prices ground to a temporary standstill in the second quarter. Generally speaking, mark-ups announced by virtually all major manufacturers in the second half of February and in March for second-quarter deliveries did not take effect. Producers were seeking mark-ups averaging €150-200/t at that time. These targets were already lower than those made public in January and the first half of February when titanium dioxide producers intended to charge €200-300/t more. The recent rollover means that most prices were kept untouched at the first quarters’ level. Buyer said that a few minor price cuts of up to €50/t had been an option for larger orders.
