Arauco: Takeover safeguards supplies in Jaguariaíva

Arauco and Klabin took over the forestry company Florestal Vale do Corisco for a purchase price of US$473.5m. The acquisition was processed through the joint-venture company Centaurus Holding, in which Klabin holds 51% and Arauco 49%. Florestal Vale do Corisco manages a total of 107,000 hectares of forest in Paraná, 63,000 hectares of which currently consist of pine forest. With this acquisition, Arauco aims, inter alia, to safeguard timber supplies for the new MDF line in Jaguariaíva.
