Roughly 1.3m m³ of logs sold at auctions in Spain

A total of 1.294m m³ of logs were sold at log auctions held by the Spanish forestry office in the first half-year 2012. According to a compilation by the internet news company Maderaldia.com, the value amounted to €32.6m. Roughly 45 % of the sold volume was accounted for by the wood species eucalyptus globulus (198,836 m³), pinus pinaster (195,109 m³), and pinus sylvestris (193,191 m³). In terms of the provinces, 26% of the volume was sold in Cantabria, 12% in Soria, and 8% in Asturias.
