Another increase in Sweden’s exports in February 2012
Swedish exports of softwood lumber and planed products in February 2012 were almost 27% higher than a year earlier at a total of 1.06m m³. Data from Statistics Sweden shows that after an increase of almost 14% in January, exports in the first two months of this year were roughly 21% higher than in the same period of last year. The main reason for this sharp rise in February was an almost three-fold increase in exports to buyers in Africa to 245,500 m³. Deliveries to buyers in other European countries, on the other hand, only showed below-average growth of 9% to a total of 667,400 m³.
