Sir Ian Cheshire, CEO of the British DIY group Kingfisher, will retire by the end of the year. He will also withdraw from the Board, effective from 31 January 2015. Sir Ian has worked for Kingfisher for 16 years. For 14 years he has been a member of the Board and he has held the position of CEO for seven years. Verónique Laury has already been appointed Sir Ian’s successor. Laury currently manages the French subsidiary Castorama France within the Kingfisher group. For the past eleven years, Laury had been employed in different positions within the group. Before she became CEO of Castorama France she had acted as Commercial Director for both Castorama France and the whole Kingfisher group.
