Implementation of the EU Regulation raises questions

The European Timber Regulation (EUTR), which penalises illegal timber imports into the EU, is to take effect on 3 March 2013. European timber merchants thus have less than three months left to put in place a due diligence scheme and modify documentation for imports to meet these requirements. However, European import merchants continue to raise questions about what these requirements will look like in practice and what types of documentation will be sufficient or required.
