Holzring turnover grows as expected to almost €850m
Following the slightly downward trend in 2015, centrally invoiced turnover generated by German timber-wholesale cooperative Der Holzring, increased by 6% to a total of almost €850m in 2016. This means that the turnover forecast issued at the beginning of July was met. Turnover in 2015 had declined year on year by 1.0% to €802m, primarily on account of changes to the circle of partners.
The product segment Building Elements in particular contributed to growth in turnover last year. With the further expansion of business with interior doors, revenues achieved with building elements were up year on year by more than 10%. Holzring states that the Interior Finishing (+6.2%) and Solid Wood (+5.4%) segments showed similar trends to that shown by total turnover. In contrast, turnover achieved with wood-based panels remained at approximately the same level year on year.
