UFP delivers sharp rise in first-quarter revenues

The US timber firm Universal Forest Products (UFP) ended the first three months of 2012 with stronger revenues and results after a good final quarter of 2011. All in all, first-quarter turnover was up 18% in a year-on-year comparison at US$457.1m. Operating results were also clearly in positive territory again at US$7.8m. Net results were also back in the black at US$4.4m. The company reported revenue growth from all business divisions in the first quarter of 2012, with the Commercial Construction and Concrete Forming (+38%) and Manufactured Housing (+34%) divisions delivering especially positive performances.
