Bau attracts almost as many visitors as in 2011
The Bau trade fair that was held from 14 to 19 January 2013 on the premises of the new Munich fairgrounds attracted a good 235,000 visitors, according to initial information from the organiser Messe München. As such, the number of 238,230 visitors counted in 2011 was almost repeated, in spite of the sometimes difficult weather conditions. Architects and planning offices made up around 50,000 of all visitors. More than 60,000 visitors came from abroad. Visitor numbers from Russia (2,920), China (1,091) and Japan (750) showed disproportionate growth.The 180,000m² of exhibition space in 17 halls were again fully booked by 2,060 exhibitors. 1,488 exhibitors came from Germany and 120 from Austria. This was followed by exhibitors from Italy (89), Switzerland (40), Belgium (36), Turkey (35), Spain (27), Poland (25), France (24) and the Netherlands (23). All in all there were 472 foreign exhibitors from 41 countries. The next Bau will take place from 19 to 25 January in Munich. 98 % of this year's exhibitors intend to participate again.
