– The laminate and elements manufacturer Resopal GmbH, which is headquartered Groß-Umstadt, Germany and owned by the US-American company Wilsonart International Inc., located in Temple, Texas, showed turnover growth in the first half of 2011 of 17% to €77m (Jan.-June 2010: 66m). Contributory factors were rising sales figures for products newly launched on the market in recent years (for example Resofloor high-gloss flooring, the Spa Styling range of bathroom design elements, various matt and high-gloss surfaces, prefabricated products for table-tennis table production and Re-y-Stone bio-composite board presented at the end of 2010 and now introduced to the market) and the renewed expansion of industrial business. Resopal now supplies several European wood-based-materials and laminate manufacturers with special HPL qualities; various buyers from that sector have extended their ranges in recent months.
Resopal has budgeted revenues of €153.4m for the whole of 2011. Business at the end of July was already ahead of budget, so that a further favourable course of business in the coming months should see turnover in excess of €155m. In the 2010 business year, Resopal generated turnover of €135.5m; the figure of €137m targeted at the beginning of November 2010 was therefore not quite reached. However, the previous year’s decline has been compensated for. According to earlier published reports, Resopal had generated revenues of roughly €135m in the 2007/2008 business year (30 November), which deviated from the calendar year, while the 2008/2009 business year showed a decline to roughly €125m.
